As president of CareSource Military & Veterans (CMV), Michael Braham leads CMV's integrated strategy to improve the quality and coordination of care for service members, veterans and their families. In this role, Mike has P&L responsibility, strategic growth and federal program oversight that accelerates health and wellness outcomes while delivering operational excellence with cost savings.
As a champion who leads at the intersection of physical health, behavioral health and technology, Mike is passionate about addressing chronic conditions through preventive care and systems with a longitudinal view of managing and treating co-morbidities, including behavioral health impacts to disease progression and wellness. Mike is committed to ensuring military and veteran families have access to high-quality care and wraparound resources that significantly increase their quality of life during and after their active-duty service.
Starting his career as a United States Marine Corps officer and AV-8B Harrier pilot, Mike took his “never say can't” mantra to the commercial market and distinguished himself in the executive ranks as both a “change agent and intrapreneur,” transforming organizations in the technology and telecommunications industries, as well as insurance and health care. He is a mission-focused leader, innovative planner and experienced crisis management operator. Mike excels in building high-performance teams, driving business development strategies and creating early warning systems that enable leadership to react swiftly in dynamic markets.
Mike's notable achievements include creating Magellan Health's federal division, and enhancing innovation and member engagement within Aetna's Medicare division. Additionally, as CEO of Trapollo, a telehealth and connected care company (owned by Cox Business), Mike supported numerous top-tier health care providers as they transformed health care delivery to patients with existing chronic illnesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mike holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from George Mason University. He is a member of the board of directors for the National Center for Healthy Veterans and the Able Channel, a streaming and digital health platform designed to help people lead healthier lives.
